Progressive Era Foreign Policy Acts

Progressive Era Foreign Policy Acts were acts made by the US showing the influence of Progressivism concerning foreign policy. The Panama Canal Tolls Act in 1912, which exempted American shipping from tolls and thereby provoked protest from Britain, was repealed under Woodrow Wilson. Later the Jones Act in 1916 granted the Philippines terriotrial status and promised indpendance as soon as a "stable government" could be established was also passed under Woodrow Wilson.
